MUSICIAN Adam Isaac has celebrated the launch of his debut album with a sell-out gig at the Exeter Phoenix.

Backed by six musicians who worked on the album, entitled Train Tracks, the Voice finalist performed all his new material with a few covers he has added his own twist to.

Exeter musicians Roger Styles, Leigh Coleman, Richard James, Celine Dos Santos and Morning Rush supported the singer at the concert on Saturday.

"It was amazing, and there was some great feedback for all the artists that played, the standard of music was great," said the 29-year-old from Bradninch. "I was worried that the crowds wouldn't be that big for the first artists but the room was really full from the beginning. And the atmosphere was incredible throughout."

Adam has also sent a copy of his new album to legendary singer Tom Jones who coached him on the BBC1 talent show.

Although Adam has been working as a professional musician since he was 20, it was the first time he had performed at the Phoenix, and he was excited to hear the reaction to the new material which remains true to his rock roots.

"I've had some great responses, lots of comments on Twitter from people saying that the set rocked, that people were buzzing from it and that every song on the album was really strong," Adam continued. "This really gave me a sense of reward for all the work I'd put into it.

"Some songs were only written a few weeks before the album was recorded, another on the album I wrote ten years ago and it's proving to be one of the most popular tracks. So the gig was a test in some ways – I'd never played the Phoenix before and although I've played many large events with massive crowds this was my own gig. It was probably my ideal gig, in a great setting with a great sound. And it was packed out, which was amazing."

Train Track is currently available as a hard copy and will shortly be available on iTunes. For details visit www.adamisaac.com
