Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers

Post  Moderator on Sat Feb 02, 2013 8:17 am

I've been plugging Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers on the JossUK twitter for a while now and they've gone mentally viral on YouTube. Lovely singer, talented musicians and a real fun factor appeal to them. They go around recording songs with Nicki and the band while filming and driving their van 'The Van Sessions' They're a great bunch of peeps and really friendly, looking forward to going over to see them on the west coast of USA Smile They're regulars at Davey Stu's regular 'The Troubador' too Wink

Anyhoo here's some of the van sessions videos, for some reason I can't upload the videos direct to the forum but I'll put some links of some of their covers. (Admin can you do you're doo darr again to me vids) x

Lovely idea though and I'm so proud they've put their videos out there to the masses.

Here goes, just a few samples because there's too many to put here and I need to top up me old vino tinto Wink

Glad you like them 1jsfan, they're very talented peeps indeed and all about the music. I'll definitely keep plugging them (selfishly I know) but I'm shameless :-D Honestly though it's all very exciting when you discover a new band and sound, music should be shared x

I was very doubtful I would ever get the chance to see Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers in the states but they've announced a small Euro and UK tour in the late Autumn

They've really broadened my musical tastes, the band and that feel good voice yaaaaay I can't wait

They vaguely remind me of this great group from the 80's (singer Chrissie Hynde).

Oh of course, I knew The Pretenders rang a bell and they were formed in Hereford I see on their Wiki page, not far from me.  I think they're more rock/pop than NB&TG country/folk/rock/soul vibes but I see what ya mean Smile

Check out this acoustic version of their song 'I'm Your Women' they're all so tight and they gig virtually every day and it shows Very Happy

My big idols to see live were Little Stevie, Joss Stone, Beverley Knight , Aretha Franklin and last but not least Nicki Bluhm. Now I bet I may not ever see the queen of soul live but even more rare than that I never dreamed I would see Nicki bluhm and the Gramblers! Well after a mayhem travel to London on the motorbike which kept breaking down along the way and then completely died about 100 metres from the venue, it was meant to be. Wow harmonies, skilled instrumentalists and feel good songs. THE best harmonies going! I love music but I love people who love playing music. More NB&ATG gigs coming up, looking forward to some groovy times :-) Real music yeah!
