Re: England
Thanks for moving the topic. I should have done that when I first went off track. I go off the track pretty easy.
I am learning things today. I had it in my mind that Devon went farther west and now I see that that is actually Cornwall.
I sure hope I get the opportunity to come over there sometime soon. Everything looks so beautiful especially where you are. I've got the time, I just need the money.
It is hard imagine the climate there as you are at a higher latitude than the farthest north part of Michigan, and we have very cold and snowy winters there. It can go -20 F several times a winter. Yet where you are it probably never gets near that cold. Even in the south of Michigan it is not uncommon to go well below 0 F during the winter.

Re: England
Being on the end of a jet stream means that anything is possible over here. It can get very hot or it can be bloody awful like it is now with the rain and floods
but the coldest Ive known was about - 8 or 9 last year

Re: England
Looks wonderful! Have you been there?
By the way, the term I was looking for was "West Country", not West End. In an interview I heard the host referred to Joss as a West Country girl that made good! ..

Re: England
I've been to the Isles of Scily twice now. It's so beautiful. But then Cornwall can be really beautiful too:
St Michaels Mount
St Ives
The Eden Project
Mousehole
Minack Theatre
I always wonder if Joss has come down to visit Cornwall ever. I'd love to bump into her in Truro

Kernow Bys Vyken?
Lol. Not many people use the old Cornish language down here anymore but you can still get the strong accents. When my mum and I are together some people say they can't understand us!!

Re: England
Cornwall....I don't know the rest. It's the name of a book we got given in primary school about the Cornish

Sorry that was my very lame humour! Gotta love a West Country accent, even if you don't understand

Re: England
Actually I always thought your accent was really mild Sophie. Just the odd word that reminds me where your from. Theres a few of the older people living here that have a really really strong Devon accent which reminds me a lot of my Grandparents on one side of my family who were from Gloucester and Bristol area. When they get talking to each other its sometimes a little difficult to catch every word
This is a perfect example

Re: England
That is true...most of the Cornish have mild accents now really. But I've been told when I talk to my mum it's hilarious!

Re: England
Yes, easy to see why! She must be a country girl at heart. And she loves that she is.
