Jaggers Supergroup Announces Album Details Empty Jaggers Supergroup Announces Album Details

Some time ago, it was revealed that Mick Jagger had formed a new super group that included Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, Joss Stone, Damian Marley and Indian composer A.R Rahman. The name of the band was Super Heavy and they had been recording together on the quiet for about 18 months.

Now, some firm details have emerged regarding the first Super Heavy album. The LP is still yet to be assigned a title, but according to The Music Network it will be released in September, with a preceding single, Miracle Worker, hitting radio as early as July 7.

Super Heavy began life with Stewart getting in touch with Jagger after being inspired by the sounds and music he heard when spending time at his house in Jamaica. Stone, Marley and Rahman were next to be recruited.

Jagger is quoted as saying about the group, “Dave really wanted to make a record with a different group of musicians, in other words, with different backgrounds of music.

“Instead of everyone being a rock musician, or basically a blues musician, or some other genre, he wanted to get as many genres together that would fit. I said it sounds like a good idea, I never thought it would actually happen.”

The album was recorded in Miami, Cyprus, India and France before being mixed in Los Angeles. As for touring, no suggestion of it has been made just yet, with Stewart saying in May that the band’s chances of going on the road would be affected by any possible tour Jagger plans with the Rolling Stones.
